Neurodiversity Therapist

Barbara (Blaze) Lazarony, LMFT

Neurodiversity Therapist in California and a Coach Worldwide

Greetings,

I’m Barbara (Blaze) Lazarony, LMFT (#151788)—a neurodivergent therapist, coach, and guide dedicated to helping adults, couples, and leaders build clarity, connection, and self-trust. Blaze isn’t just a nickname; it’s a symbol of my bright and compassionate spirit, forged through life’s challenges and triumphs.

Blaze 2021

My journey to becoming a therapist and coach wasn’t a straight line—it was shaped by personal struggles, health battles, and an unquenchable thirst for knowledge. I hold a Master’s in Clinical Psychology from Sofia University, with advanced training in Autism, ADHD, AuDHD, and Complex Trauma. As a three-time cancer survivor, neurodivergent adult, and someone in a neurodiverse relationship for over 40 years, I bring both professional expertise and lived experience to my work.

A Personal Journey That Shaped My Calling

My first cancer journey also yielded me a mental health diagnosis of Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD), Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder (OCD), anxiety, and depression—collectively rolled into a Complex Trauma diagnosis. Nearly two decades later, I discovered two of these diagnoses also earned me a seat on the “neurodiversity bus”. I also identify as a Highly Sensitive Person (HSP), also described as someone with a number of sensory sensitivities.

I share these parts of my story openly with my clients and readers because I believe in normalizing mental health challenges. Transparency is a cornerstone of my approach—it fosters safety, trust, and a sense of shared humanity.

My road to recovery ignited a passion for continuous learning, a trait that now defines my approach to therapy and coaching. I see every individual and couple as a unique and mysterious puzzle. Each session is an opportunity to unravel these colorful mysteries of humanity, one piece at a time, from a place of warmth, empathy, and curiosity.

Below is my Blaze A Brilliant Path logo, a division of my work with women and a personal reminder to be a beacon of light and positive energy. I am not only a neurodiversity therapist and coach but also the CEO and founder of Love on the Autism Spectrum, Neurodiverse Executive Coaching, and Neurodiversity Network.

Who I Help

When Traditional Therapy Hasn’t Worked, You’re Not the Problem.

If you’ve tried couples therapy—and still feel stuck, misunderstood, or even more disconnected—you’re not alone. Neurodiverse relationships need a different kind of support. As a neurodivergent therapist and coach with over 40 years in a neurodivergent partnership,

I help couples who’ve seen too many traditional therapists and still don’t feel seen. Together, we bridge communication gaps, rebuild emotional safety, and reconnect in ways that actually work—so your relationship feels real, supportive, and honoring of who you both truly are-today and everyday!

I support neurodivergent adults—whether they are diagnosed or still exploring their identity—who sense that they navigate the world a little differently. You don’t have to fit yourself into that “neurotypical” box.

Maybe you’re carrying the weight of masking. Maybe you feel emotionally overwhelmed, disconnected, or tired of trying to explain what you need.

Maybe love feels out of reach—or like it always asks too much of you. You’re not broken. You’re just wired differently. And that deserves understanding—not judgment.

Through therapy, coaching, assessments, and neurodiversity-informed support, I help individuals and couples find clarity, connection, and self-trust—at a pace that honors your nervous system, your lived experience, and your truth.

You don’t need to have it all figured out. You just need a place to begin. I’ll meet you there. You’re not alone.

How I Can Help

  • Therapy and Coaching for Neurodivergent Adults and Couples: Supporting those with Autism, ADHD, and Complex Trauma.

  • Autism and ADHD Assessments: Offering clarity and insight for adults exploring neurodivergence.

  • Support for Neurotypical Partners: Addressing Cassandra Syndrome and fostering deeper understanding in neurodiverse relationships.

  • Neurodiverse Couples Retreats and Support Groups: Creating spaces for connection and growth.

  • Leadership Coaching: Empowering neurodivergent leaders and professionals to thrive personally and professionally.

  • Trauma-Informed Approaches and Sensory Support: Helping clients build emotional regulation and coping strategies.

For Couples

If you’re in a relationship where connection feels out of reach, communication keeps breaking down, or intimacy feels unbalanced—you’re not alone.

Maybe you’ve seen therapist after therapist and still don’t feel understood.

Maybe one of you shuts down while the other feels like they’re carrying the entire relationship.

Maybe sex feels confusing, triggering, or like another area where you just can’t seem to get it right.

I specialize in working with couples who’ve tried traditional therapy and still feel stuck. With over 40 years in a neurodivergent relationship myself, I offer a different approach—one that bridges communication gaps, rebuilds emotional safety, and helps both partners feel seen, valued, and supported as their full selves.

For Neurodivergent Adults

Maybe you’ve been diagnosed with Autism, ADHD, AuDHD, or Complex Trauma.

Or maybe you just know you’ve always moved through the world differently.

You might be sensitive, intuitive, or deeply emotional.

You might carry the weight of masking just to get through your day.

You might just be out of “spoons.”

You might feel burned out, misunderstood, or like love and connection always cost too much.

Whether you’re just starting to explore the idea of neurodivergence or have known it for years, I offer a space where your differences aren’t pathologized—they’re deeply respected.

Why Work With Me?

I bring more than professional expertise—I bring lived experience.

As a neurodivergent adult and a three-time cancer survivor,

I understand the challenges of navigating life.

Having been in a neurodiverse relationship for over 40 years,

I also recognize the triumphs that come from experiencing the world differently.

In Our Work Together, You’ll Find:

A nonjudgmental space to slow down, feel, and be fully human.

Support that honors your natural rhythm and lived experience.

A collaborative process grounded in consent, honesty, and care.

Room to explore identity, grief, relational patterns, and what it means to be you—without masking.

This work isn’t about getting it “right.”

It’s about getting real—gently, safely, and together.
