Our Key Modalities for Neurodiverse Therapy & Coaching

Emotionally Focused Couples

Emotionally Focused Couples Therapy (EFCT) is a cornerstone of my work with neurodiverse couples and individuals, and it’s one of the most transformative modalities I offer. What I love most about EFCT is its ability to create safety, deepen connection, and rebuild trust in relationships—especially for those navigating the complexities of Autism, ADHD, or complex trauma.

EFCT is grounded in attachment theory, which highlights the importance of emotional bonds in our relationships. Many couples I work with come to me feeling stuck, disconnected, or misunderstood, often struggling with communication or emotional regulation. EFCT provides a compassionate framework to uncover the underlying emotions and unmet needs driving these patterns. It’s not about assigning blame—it’s about understanding each partner’s experience and fostering a deeper sense of empathy and connection.

For neurodiverse couples, EFCT is particularly powerful because it honors differences while building bridges of understanding. It helps partners navigate sensory sensitivities, emotional overwhelm, and communication challenges in a way that feels safe and affirming.

What I love most about EFCT is how it transforms relationships. It’s not just about resolving conflict—it’s about creating a secure, loving bond where both partners feel seen, valued, and supported. For me, EFCT is a journey of healing and growth that helps couples build relationships that truly honor their unique stories and strengths.

Internal Family Systems

Internal Family Systems (IFS) Therapy is one of the most profound and transformative approaches I use to support neurodivergent adults, couples, and leaders. What I love most about IFS is its compassionate, non-pathologizing view of the mind. It’s based on the idea that we all have “parts” within us—distinct aspects of our psyche that hold emotions, beliefs, and roles. These parts often work to protect us, but they can also carry burdens from past experiences.

For individuals navigating Autism, ADHD, or complex trauma, IFS provides a gentle and effective way to explore the inner world without judgment. IFS helps us identify and connect with two key groups of parts:

  • Exiles, which carry pain, shame, or trauma and are often hidden to protect us from overwhelming emotions.
  • Protectors, which work hard to shield the exiles, sometimes through behaviors that may feel reactive or unhelpful.

What makes IFS truly special is its focus on the Self—the calm, curious, and compassionate core within each of us. Through IFS, we work to unburden these parts, heal wounds, and foster harmony within.

I love IFS because it goes beyond symptom management. It empowers clients to build self-compassion, emotional clarity, and a deeper understanding of themselves. For me, it’s not just therapy; it’s a healing journey that honors every part of who you are.

Brainspotting, not EMDR

Brainspotting is one of the most powerful and transformative therapies I offer, and it holds a special place in my heart and practice. As a neurodivergent therapist and coach, I am drawn to modalities that honor the mind’s innate ability to heal, and Brainspotting does just that. It’s a revolutionary approach that allows us to access the brain’s self-healing capacities by targeting specific “brain spots” connected to trauma, stress, and even moments of joy.

What makes Brainspotting so unique is its ability to bypass the analytical mind and work directly with the deeper, emotional regions of the brain. It’s not just about talking through experiences—it’s about uncovering and releasing the emotional and physical burdens stored in the body. For my clients navigating Autism, ADHD, or complex trauma, this approach is especially effective because it meets them where they are, without requiring them to explain or relive every detail of their pain.

I love Brainspotting because it’s compassionate, nonjudgmental, and deeply personal. It gently peels back layers of emotional distress, helping clients find clarity, relief, and empowerment. Whether we’re addressing sensory overload, masking fatigue, or unresolved trauma, Brainspotting offers a pathway to healing that feels safe, profound, and life-changing.

For me, Brainspotting isn’t just therapy—it’s a remarkable journey into the core of your mind, where true transformation begins.

Cognitive Behavioral Therapy

Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) is one of the most effective and empowering tools I use in my practice to help neurodivergent adults, couples, and leaders navigate life’s challenges. What I love most about CBT is its practical, solution-focused approach that fosters clarity, self-awareness, and meaningful change.

CBT is grounded in the idea that our thoughts, feelings, and behaviors are deeply interconnected. Often, unhelpful thought patterns can contribute to emotional distress or keep us stuck in cycles of anxiety, depression, or self-doubt. CBT provides a structured framework to identify and challenge these patterns, replacing them with healthier, more constructive ways of thinking and responding.

For me, CBT is particularly valuable because it’s adaptable and evidence-based. It works beautifully alongside other modalities like Brainspotting, Internal Family Systems (IFS), and Emotionally Focused Couples Therapy (EFCT). Whether I’m helping a neurodiverse couple improve communication or guiding an individual through sensory sensitivities or masking fatigue, CBT offers tools that are practical, actionable, and tailored to each person’s unique needs.

What I love most is how CBT empowers my clients to take charge of their mental health. It’s not just about managing symptoms—it’s about building skills, fostering resilience, and creating a life that feels aligned with their values and strengths.

CBT reminds us that change is possible, and that’s why it holds a special place in my practice.

Ontological Therapy

Ontological Therapy is a profoundly transformative approach that I integrate into my work with neurodivergent adults, couples, and leaders. What makes Ontological Therapy so powerful is its focus on the essence of being—exploring how we exist in the world, how we view ourselves, and how our perceptions shape our reality. This modality aligns beautifully with my mission to help clients build self-trust, emotional clarity, and authentic connections.

I love Ontological Therapy because it invites us to slow down and deeply examine the stories we tell ourselves about who we are and what we’re capable of. For neurodivergent individuals, these stories are often shaped by societal expectations and feelings of “otherness.” Ontological Therapy provides a safe and compassionate space to challenge those narratives, helping clients reconnect with their true essence and embrace their unique ways of being.

This approach is especially effective for clients navigating identity, self-worth, or existential shifts. It’s not about fixing or pathologizing—it’s about uncovering the core of who you are and aligning your life with your values and strengths.

What I love most is how Ontology Therapy empowers clients to live with intention and authenticity. It’s a journey of self-discovery that honors your individuality and creates space for growth, healing, and meaningful connection. For me, it’s not just therapy—it’s a life-changing exploration of what it means to truly be.

Sandtray Therapy

Sandtray Therapy is one of the most creative and transformative approaches I use to help neurodivergent adults, couples, and leaders explore their inner worlds. What I love most about Sandtray Therapy is its ability to bypass the constraints of verbal expression, allowing clients to communicate their experiences, emotions, and stories in a deeply symbolic and visual way.

This modality offers a safe, nonjudgmental space where clients can use miniature figures and objects to create scenes in a tray of sand. These scenes often reflect their inner thoughts, feelings, and struggles—sometimes revealing insights that words alone cannot capture. For individuals navigating Autism, ADHD, or complex trauma, Sandtray Therapy provides a grounded and sensory-friendly way to process emotions without feeling overwhelmed by traditional talk therapy.

I love Sandtray Therapy because it honors each client’s unique perspective and creativity. It’s especially effective for those who may struggle to articulate their experiences due to masking, sensory sensitivities, or emotional overwhelm. The tactile and visual elements of the sandtray allow clients to access deeper layers of their psyche in a way that feels safe and empowering.

For me, Sandtray Therapy is more than a therapeutic tool—it’s a journey of self-discovery and healing. It fosters emotional clarity, builds self-compassion, and empowers clients to make sense of their experiences in a way that feels authentic and meaningful.
